Okawa Film Project (work in progress)

A documentary about the filmmaker’s late father who attended a secret governmental school that existed in Tokyo from 1938 until the end of WWII in 1945 and was condemned as a “spy school” at the International Military Tribunal for the Far East (a.k.a. Tokyo Trial) in 1946. It is also about the founder of the school, Dr. OKAWA Shumei, one of the 28 indicted class-A war criminals at the trial, who was considered to be among “the brain trust of Japan’s military invasion in Asia” and “the father of the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity theory.”
